Advisory

Try It

For a class, a grade, or your entire school, divide students into small groups. Assign one school educator (teacher, administrator, support staff) to each group. Devote a class period to an open-ended discussion among the students on issues they care about. Share back this experience in your next staff meeting.

Discuss It

In person or online, dive into these essential questions:

  • How forthcoming were your students? What surprised you?
  • Did issues come up across multiple groups that warrants schoolwide action?
  • How could we make this advisory experience more integral to our school?
